Caffeine Buzz

Today was one of those days where I would have given all the money in my purse, plus $10,000, for great cup of coffee. Starbucks will do the trick every once-in-a-while, but only when I'm in a pinch and really need the pick-me-up. The greatest thing to me is a freshly hand-brewed cup of delicious coffee. This is the kind that needs nothing added, except for a cozy place to sit and a little extra time in the morning. There are some great places around St. Louis and the metropolitan area, that offer just that. I cant wait for you to try them.

VB Chocolate Bar
1. VB's Chocolate Bar: Located at 5326 Highway N., Cottleville (You may have read my review on this place. If you haven't gone yet, you should REALLY make the time. Check out my review here) Stop in to try out one of the several amazing coffee selections and grab a hand crafted chocolate truffle to pair with it. You won't be sorry.

VB's is "Cream & Sugar Neutral" -  Of course they want to accomidate all of their customers. House made syrups, cream and sugar are available upon request. They may ask you to try the coffee before adding anything extra first just so you can enjoy the natural sweetness and flavors of the coffee before adding the extras. But chances are, after trying, you won't WANT to add anything else. It's that good!

Sump
2. Sump: located at 3700 S. Jefferson, St. Louis. Sump reopens on Thursday and is ready to hit the ground running once again with amazing hand poured coffee. Last I went, I had the Kyoto Style iced coffee and was never the same again. Sump is perfect for the coffee enthusiast who drinks specifically for the love of the natural flavors in the bean

"Cream & Sugar is Strictly Prohibited" - Don't ask for any extras here. You may end up getting asked to leave.

Comet Coffee
3. Comet Coffee: Located at 5708 Oakland Ave, St Louis. Located near Dogtown. These guys don't joke around with their coffee. They have great selections with single origin beans and use pour-over methods, but are great for the newbie coffee connoisseur as well.

Comet Coffee is "Cream & Sugar Friendly" - Although they do specialize in coffee drinks that are meant to be enjoyed black, don't hesitate to ask for your latte to be made a mocha here. You can also look at their menu and find several varieties of frozen coffee drinks and lots of familiar flavors.
Kuva Coffee Co.
4. Kuva Coffee Co: On top of some places to buy a cup of great coffee, there are some amazing local roasters that combine incredible knowledge and a love for caffeine, to create amazingly roasted batches of beans. Kuva Coffee and it's knowledgeable Roastmasters, hand-roast in small batches upon request, to ensure their Arabica beans are the freshest they can be for their customers. I was happy to have been able to partake in an Open House that Kuva put on at their roasting facilities. The love for coffee and the willingness to perfect each batch, was all I needed to recognize the level of expertise that comes from these four walls. You can find Kuva Coffee at Local Harvest Market and Whole Foods.

What's your favorite coffee joint? Check these places out and let me know what you think! You may turn into a coffee enthusiast yourself.
