A Cut Above The Rest

A trend I've been seeing recently and love is the "Cut-Out" trend.  It comes off as a little risque, but there are plenty of tasteful ways to pull of this trend just in time for Summer.  The trend was also big last Spring with designers including Stella McCartney and Proenza Schouler.  The cuts are not necessarly on the midriff, many pieces have cuts on the back, shoulders, and even sides of the dress.  
It is important that with this trend, the rest of the look remains simple.  It is easy for this look to appear "distasteful" if you have a lot going on, or showing off too much skin.  If you have a cutout along the midriff, make sure the waist comes up high enough and the length is not too short.
If you are looking for a more conservative look, find a piece with cutouts on the back or near the collarbone or shoulder.  Perfect for an evening out with your main squeeze or night with the girls :) What do you think- will you be sporting this trend come Summer?
