Getting a Jump on Mother's Day

In case you forgot, this weekend is Mother's Day. It's called "Mother's Day" but really is just a great time to celebrate with your mother, grandmother, sister, aunt etc. and show them that you appreciate all they do. If your family is like mine, they don't focus so much on gifts as they do valuable time spent together. Here are some great ideas and wonderful places around the city that are perfect ways to spend time with the special ladies in your life.

Share a Laugh Over Brunch

Most of the time, these holidays include eating!! If you're simply having a BBQ at your Grandparents, great! But, if you're looking for something different this year, here are a couple places that might strike your fancy. I've been all of these places below and can attest to the amazing atmosphere and quality of all of them.

Get your Nails Done

If it's just the girls this year, head over to your local or favorite nail salon and have a spa day! Treat your mom to the complete package including a message and pedicure! She'll love it! Pampering and relaxation is the perfect gift. My favorite salon in this area is Beautiful Nails on Big Bend in Brentwood. There is never a wait, they do a great job, and offer a variety of services.

Take the Fam to the Park

If the entire family is getting together this year, take a trip to the park to get some fresh air! Sunday is supposed to be 64 degrees and sunny. What a wonderful way to spend the day. Throw a couple of games in your car. Grab some frizbees, a deck of cards, or even pack a picnic! You can play music on your phone and bask in the sun with you favorite ladies. Forest Park is always a great place to meet up. There are lots of walking trails and wonderful free activities!

Have a Movie Night

If you would prefer to stay in, run to RedBox or find a great movie on NetFlix! You can pop some popcorn and even make soft pretzels or nachos! Make sure your mom isn't counting her calories, and be sure to grab her favorite candy. This is a great way to please everyone, spend time together and enjoy the evening.

What is your favorite activity for Mom's Day? We would love to hear about it!
