OHH Trend Sundays!

This week Syd and I decided to focus on comfort--We each have our own take on the looks going with a more dressy and causal approach.  There are always fun events going on in St. Louis this summer and dressing for both comfort and fashion doesnt have to be a hassle! I am wearing a knit crop top and Zara pants with draping details. Ive paired them with strappy heels and silver and black jewelry.  This top is super comfortable and completely versatile.  Pair with high waisted blue jeans for a completely different look.  Syd opted for a printed button down shirt, boyfriend style blue jean shorts, and pink flats.  The pink flats bring out the detail in the shirt.  She's accessorized with an amazing clock necklace and gold bracelet.  Boyfriend style pants are always a go to-- We've posted this style with a more dressy top in a previous post here. What do you think of our looks--what are your go to looks for summer outings?

Comfort Travels

Well, I am officially off to Chicago for a fun girl's trip and exciting opportunity that has to remain secret for now :).  My mom and Aunt have accompanied me on this trip and as I was complementing my mom and aunt on their chic travel styles (complete with crocs, and Nike sandals) I looked at my own outfit- lol. The last thing I want to wear when riding a train for 4 plus hours is something fashionable-- so I've opted for Victoria's Secret workout pants, black tank, tennis shoes, and messy curls pulled into a bun. This was fine until the camera man from Channel 2 wanted to film us at the cafe cart-- fabulous.  This inspired me to pull some of my favorite chic travel looks. You never know when you're going to be filmed! :)

Stop and Smell the Florals

We jumped from spring to summer rather quickly, haven't we? Luckily a lot of my spring favorites still work in the summer heat (well...almost) and right now I'm loving the floral prints! Ranging from cute tops to my favorite 90's-esque dresses, my floral prints won't let me down. With the humidity and heat, I've been changing my wardrobe quite a bit. With the cute floral prints however, your ensemble is still put together and perfectly suited for your summer activities.

What do you think of these pops of floral?

Casual Chic

I absolutely love this outfit on Rihanna.  So much, in fact that I attempted to re-create it using my fave- Polyvore. I'm a huge fan of taking something dressy/formal and pairing it with something more causal like a distressed jean.  There's something about mixing & matching the styles that just works.  Its also a great way to use the most of your wardrobe-dressy items arent just for formal events!  What do you think of Rihanna's look?  What is your take on mixing styles?

Summer Jewels

When summer hits, I'm all about accessories. With it being so hot outside and never really wanting to take a ton of time on my outfit choice, I usually end up throwing together a little skirt and v-neck tee. To give my look a little more personal style and flair, accessories tend to pull it together.

Gold, metal, stones and jewels are all that I'm about this summer! Take a look at these amazing pieces. What do you think these styles?

Green With Envy

I've been on a neon green kick for a while now, and lately I've been seeing this vibrant color in the fashion world.  When many thing of neon colors, they think 80's fashions or the bright colors you wear when running at night- haha.  But, it's all that and more- it's the perfect pop of color and a go-to color for summer. Use it as the main focus of your outfit or a simple twist to an all black or white ensemble.  This color trend isn't just for the ladies either fellas.  My first image shows the perfect amount of color with a sophisticated look of oxfords and dresspants.  Don't be afraid to add a little color to your look!  What do you think of this trend?--I say let's brighten things up a bit.

Style Stalk: Mary Kate Olsen

I'm so very excited about next week. My boyfriend Paul and I were asked to "model" for a shoot that a very talented local photographer and friend of ours has designed for us. In preparation for the shoot, I've began to do my outfit research based on the style he has given me.

Now, I hate the term "boho chic", but has anyone come up with a better way to describe this style? I call it "The Mary Kate Olsen". I personally love this care-free look and can't wait to see how this shoot turns out.

The Must-Haves:
Oversized Top
Tons of Jewelry
Skinny Jeans
Killer Heels
GIANT BAG
Red lips
Messy Hair
Trendy Hat

Am I missing anything? What do you think of this style?

Summer Makeup Craze: Pink and Copper

I can already tell, after seeing a dozen pics on Pinterest, that my brand new Summer Makeup Craze is going to be all about Copper and Pink! Although at first, I felt like together, the colors would give a sense of "Overdone" or "Too Much Makeup", the colors began to grow on me and now I'm in love! It's all about balance, and I think I figured out a great plan to achieve the look.

To achieve the perfect pink and copper look, I'm going to apply a copper pigment all over my lid, crease, just under the brown bone and on the bottom lash line. I will then blend a darker cocoa brown on the outer edges of my lid and into my crease. BLEND BLEND BLEND! I want the focus to be on the copper, not on the dark brown, so this will just be used to add drama to the look. I will finish the eyes with a thin line of black cream eyeliner (blended so the edges are not harsh) and black mascara. Adding a creamy fuchsia lipstick will complete it. My plan for the rest of my face is to pay extra attention to my eyebrows and cheekbones! Because the makeup on my eyes will be fairly heavy, the attention will mostly be pointed there. I want to make sure my eyebrows are shaped, neat and tidy. The look will only get better with a touch of bronzer in the hallows of my cheeks and a dusting of rose or peach on the apples of the cheeks.

What do you think about this look?
