The other day I was looking in the mirror and applying my morning makeup. I leaned in to get a closer look, and what do I see??? A WRINKLE!!! I know, I know, this is absolutely nothing to be worried about, but as soon as I started to focus on that tiny line, the vision of a thousand tiny wrinkles all over my face popped into my head! I'm only 25! This can't be happening! Oh, but it is.
Okay, enough of the dramatic visualization. Doctors and skin care experts say that the average woman should start using anti-aging creams, lotions and face-masks when they turn 25. This will help build the elasticity and the collagen in our skin now and prepare us for when we begin to age. We can run to the store and start stocking up on the anti-aging lines (believe me, I did), or we can not stress over it and help our bodies with the aging naturally. I decided to choose the natural approach.
Here are a few great tips for the ageless beauty!
Up that Vitamin C
Vitamin C is one of the best skin care products for anti aging and anti
wrinkle skin care. Vitamin C boosts collagen production in the skin,
helps protect the skin against sun and free radical damages, and
improves the appearance of fine lines and deep wrinkles. Vitamin C is
commonly found in natural skin tightening treatments.
Grab some Local Honey
Honey is one of the best skin care products in many anti aging skin care
products. This homemade skin care ingredient works as a humectant
(helps to retain moisture) to keep your skin well hydrated. Application
of honey on to the face will help you get rid of acne and also provides
moisturizing anti-aging benefits. Try to do this natural skin care
remedy regularly for best results.
Face Mask #1:
Take 2 teaspoons of yogurt the juice of 1 fresh lemon, 1/2 teaspoon of
honey and 2 capsules of vitamin E. Mix the ingredients well until it
turns into a smooth paste. Apply the mask on your face and cover the
neck as well. Leave it on for 20 to 25 minutes and wash it off with cool
water. This is a skin firming facial mask that is the best cure for
loose and wrinkled skin.
Face Mask #2:
Make a DIY skin tightening face mask using a ripe peach and egg white.
To make this homemade anti-aging remedy, beat 1 egg white and 1 peach
(peeled mashed) into a bowl until it becomes even. Layer the mask onto
your face and leave for 30 minutes. Sprinkling mint powder in the
mixture can also help in soothing the skin
Have you found wrinkles and had the same reaction as me? What are some of your skin care approaches?

Bohemian Babes
Happy Sunday Everyone!! This has been a crazy weekend with Syd in Chicago and Danni having a weekend full of wedding festivities! Lately, we've had our eye on some pretty chic Bohemian babes. We've found some of our favorite stylish celebs rocking this look. When we think of Bohemian or "Boho Chic", we think of one thing--Music Festivals. But, Its much more than that. It's connecting with the world and nature and is full of colors, fabrics, and complete expression. Many elements of Bohemain fashion became popular in the 1960's, but are still going strong today! Check out these stylish celebs who love this throwback look.

Bookworm
The Book Clutch. I first noticed these stylish conversation starters when Natalie Portman wore one to the Premiere of Black Swan. It was such a classic accessory and added a stylish edge to her gorgeous black gown that evening. Ive recently seen more and more celebrities wearing them- most recently at the Cannes Film Festival. Bernice Bejo wore an Olympia Le-Tan book clutch at the "Le Passe" Premeire which added a quirky edge to her ensemble. Kate Spade designs some very cute, yet expensive book clutches; the quality is there but they can be pricey. I found some less expensive versions here on Etsy :). What do you think-Would you rock a book clutch?

Chicago #2
So we've already established that I'm a little bit of a freak when it comes to planning vacations. I like to be very detail oriented and make sure have packed everything I could need, want or desire! My RoadTrip Playlist (Check it out here) is created and now I'm starting to plan my outfits for our 4 day mini vaca!
I'm loving the warmer weather, but I have to be conscious of Chicago being the "Windy City". Luckily my man and I already agreed to hit some awesome shops while we're there, so if I find myself unhappy with my outfit selections or have ill-prepared for weather changes , I'll have some newly purchased backups to cushion the blow.
Here are some trends that I can't wait to try for our 4 day excursion!
1. Steve Madden Studded Ankle Boots: I'm so excited about my newest shoe purchase! I'm in love with these ankle boots, and they seem to go with everything I own. I'm looking forward to pairing these with some black skinnies, a gray tank and either a patterned blazer or light sweater!
2. Crop Tops: They're Back! And just in time for the hot summer! I just recently rehabbed my own crop top out of a vintage tee. It's a great top to pair with a flowy skirt or high waisted pants. It'll be comfy and perfect for our stroll through the city.
3. Circle Sunglasses: I'm loving this 70's-esque trend. Whether you have some John Lennon style frames like these, or the larger circle frames, these sunnies will compliment jeans and a t-shirt or even a little black dress!
4. 90's Dresses: This summer, I'm all about the style of the 90's. The mixed prints and grunge style with a feminine touch, is great for a lazy day around Chi-town. I love that I can throw this on with any flats or combat boots, put my hair in a top-knot, add a touch of lipgloss and run out the door.
What do you think of these trends? I'll see you when we get back from Chicago!

Style Stalk- Gwen Stefani
Gwen Stefani has amazing style. She's one of those fashionistas that just gets it right-no effort..no fuss. I spotted this pic on a website and loved this laid back look. I used Polyvore to look up pieces to recreate the look. It's a great website to price check and have access to many differnet stores/designers if your looking for a certain item. I'm always looking for inspiration to create new looks and play with my own personal style.
What do you think of Gwen's look? Grunge meets ?

Chicago Bound #1
This weekend my boyfriend Paul and I are trekking to Chicago for a much needed mini-vacation. We both celebrated birthdays this month, so instead of spending the cash on elaborate gifts, we decided to take a trip together. Now I don't know about you, but when it comes to vacations, I kind of go into crazy mode and everything must be planned and organized. Everything I could possibly need or desire is on a mental packing list and every detail is carefully planned out. I wish I could just be one of those girls who throws 4 pairs of shorts and 7 T-shirts into a bag and calls it a day, but who am I trying to kid here?!
As it happens, I'm in the process of creating a Road Trip playlist on Spotify! They say getting there is half the fun, and I think they're right! The right tunes can get anyone in a great mood! So far I've got a great little list going of all of our favorites (mostly my favorites, but he's not picky), some classics, some booty shakers and a lot of feel-good grooves.
Check out some of the tunes I wrangled up! What do you think of this Road Trip mix? What are some of your favorite Road Trip Songs?!

Style Stalk: Karrueche Tran
Karrueche Tran-Gotta love this petite fashionista and her love for crop tops and amazing shoes. The once girlfriend of Chris Brown has since moved on and is looking amazing while doing so. She has a laid back style with a youthful twist adding fun accessories including knee high socks to her wardrobe. In my opinion, its all albout her shoes. Her shoes are my main focus and I'm pretty sure I would love to raid her shoe closet- Giuseppi Zanotti, Gucci, and an impressive collection of Jordans :). After starting his own line, Chris Brown reached out to Karrueche to take over his women's line, which is named "The Kill". She has been teaming up with Chris's stylists Ugo Mozie and Mimi Gazelle on the collection. It's a unisex line, that only features black and white clothing, lots of cotton, crop tee's going for a more comfortable, yet chic approach. I'll be on the lookout when this brand officially launches.

Color Combos: Orange and Nude
Lately, I have been really looking closely at great color combinations and different ways to style them. It's not new, but I'm loving nude and orange. I'm not one to usually wear incredibly bright colors (black and gray are my go-to's for sure). But I'm loving the sophistication of this look. The orange is the perfect color for any skin-tone and would look amazing with a pop of orange lipstick. You could easily exchange the earrings and heels with your favorite earrings or even a printed heel. A floral print or even animal print heel would look fantastic too!
What do you think of this color combination? Do you have a favorite that you always rock?

Flapper Girl
Today, instead of enjoying this beautiful afternoon, I chose to stay cool and take in a movie. That movie, was "The Great Gatsby". Aside from this being a great film and story, the clothing was amazing. The wardrobe featured feathered headpieces, long strands of pearls, lace, and rich colors. Everything was so put together- matching jewelry, shoes, accessories- perfect. As much as I love the more relaxed fashions we have today, I am having a complete love affair with the 20's fashion. Don't be alarmed if you see me out in a flapper dress-just trying to single handedly bring them back :)

Sandal Up
Finally the weather is nice, the rain is behind us and the sun is out! We've already begun our mid-spring and early summer shopping, and new footwear is definitely on the list!
I always have a hard time finding sandals that I like. Either their too strappy and end up killing my feet, they're far too jeweled and they look like a DIY project gone wrong, or they're just plain boring! One things for sure, my toes are ready to see the light of day! Here are some great stylish, sophisticated, fun and comfy sandals perfect for spring and summer!
