Recently I've been studying up on how to grow my hair out as fast as possible and keep it healthy! There are so many products on the market that have been proven to help hair grow faster! Check these out!
1. Biotin - Biotin is a supplement that helps support carbohydrate fat and energy metabolism...And, believe it or not, is great for you hair, skin and nails. I've been taking 10,000 mcg of Biotin everyday for 2 weeks, and I've started to see some major hair growth! You can find it in the supplement section of any pharmacy or drug store.
2. Castor Oil or 100% Almond Oil - It's been proven that a major reason for lack of hair growth or for thin hair, is because the hair follicles are clogged or blocked with oil, dirt, or your bodies' natural fungus. This blocks or slows down the hair from growing. Unclogging these pores is harder than you would think, and many shampoos and conditioners just clog them more. I haven't tried it myself, but there have been a lot of reviews on using castor oil or almond oil as a scalp treatment. They are great for unclogging pores and will clean all the dirt away from the hair follicle. I plan on giving this a shot!
3. Monsitat - That's right, Monistat vaginal cream is made up of the ingredient called Miconozle Nitrate. It used is a lot of foot, hair and skin care products as an anti-fungal. Applying to your scalp will help remove any unwanted bacteria that may be hindering your hair growth. Take 1 part Monsistat to 3 parts warm water, mix together and apply to scalp.

Style Stalk- House of Rochas
After viewing some of the pictures from Fashion Week, I came across some amazing pieces by Rochas. House of Rochas is designed by Marco Zanini who was the former designer for Halston. Im loving this collection and the mix/match vibe of each piece. Vintage meets couture in the best possible way. I did not look at the prices of these beauties- I'm sure they're up there but I feel like each look would be easy to create. Im definately going to have to find a floral print midi pencil skirt to pair with a comfy sweater to recreate this first look. The stocking hats add a touch of edge to each of the designs- especially the velvet and silk evening gown. I'm definately a fan and cant wait to try some of these looks!
This dress needs to be in my closet right now.

After Party
Yesterday Syd gave you her Top Oscar gown picks. Today, I've collected some of my favorites from the after parties. The Vanity Fair after-party brought some of the most stylish celebs and their dresses were just as fabulous. Most of the celebs changed out of their Oscar attire and opted for a more laid back yet elegant approach. Here are some of my top picks.
Zoe Saldana in Lacy Black Givenchy Dress. Loving the plunging neckline and lace details. Her Oscar dress was absolutely amazing and I think that was the theme for Zoe's fashion picks for the night. I'm always a fan of her looks.
Diane Kruger in Giambattista Valli dress and Christian Louboutin pumps. I feel like Diane K. always pushes the limit with fashion. Always very fashion-forward and of course she can pull off anything.
Lily Collins in Zuhair Murad gown. She looks absolutely stunning. Loving the back of this dress and the detailing with that train!
Ginnifer Goodwin in Monique Lhuillier fit and flare dress. Her style is always so playful- this dress looks amazing on her and loving the color with her eyes.

OHH! Trend Sundays!
Today's topic is all about the working girl. Many of us have 9-5, full time jobs. That's not to say we don't strive to have a great social life! So we've compiled a couple outfits that are great for the office, but are easily transitioned into a great evening outfit! Check em out and let us know what you think!
Syd is wearing black skinnies, a grey casual t-shirt, with a BCBG blazer, and black pumps. Add some red lipstick and great jewelry and she's ready for the evening as well!
Danni is wearing a black stripped pencil skirt, polka dot top, black blazer, and black ankle boots! Taking the blazer off, throwing on a leather bomber jacket and messing up her hair a little, would be a great transition into the evening!
What do you think of these working girl outfits?!
Thanks for reading

Best Dressed: Oscars 2013
Who watched the Oscars last night? What did you think? Overall I was pretty pleased with dress choices made last night. There weren't any utter catastrophes...well, maybe one. But, I'll get to that! Let's start out with the knock-outs!!
1. Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture - This girl can do absolutely no wrong in my book. Do you remember her red hot dress from last year? Oh yeah. This may be the exact opposite, with it's feminine curves and light color, but doesn't she look gorgeous? Her makeup was wonderful and her hair classy as ever. I was getting a little bit of a bridal gown vibe from this one, but still, she did a fantastic job; Even if she tripped up a little bit on the way to make her speech.
2. Charlize Theron in Christian Dior Haute Couture: Talk about classy. To this day, Charlize Theron is still one of my favorites. Her gown choices are always on point and perfect for her tall, slender and toned bod. I love this white on her and her dewy makeup look is perfect in every way.
3. Adele in Isabel Christianson: Okay, I love Adele. She's absolutely gorgeous and incredibly talented, but I think she has a lot more potential when it comes to her gown choices. I understand black is slimming and it may be exactly what she's comfortable in, but mix it up a little girl! I loved last year's 50's-esque black gown more than this. Don't get me wrong, I think she looks great, but she can do better!
4. Reese Witherspoon in Louis Vuitton - I am absolutely loving this new phase in Reese Witherspoon's life. She's dumped the first hubby, moved on, gotten some curves and some gumption and knocked it out of the park with this gorgeous Louis Vuitton dress. I don't think I need to go on.
5. Anne Hathaway in Prada - Okay, this is the train wreck I was talking about. Apparently Anne was supposed to be wearing her typical Valentino and last minute switched to the Prada. I think she made a bad choice. The color is fine, her hair and makeup look great, but was she blind when she got dressed? It fits her terribly, especially in the mid section, the hem on the bottom looks horrible and let's not forget to point out the bust. No, those aren't her nipples, but I'm pretty sure she didn't want to be remembered last night as the Best Supporting Actress who also looked "very, very, cold"
What do you think? Who made it? Who missed it? Give me your thoughts. THANKS!

Spring Cleaning
My shopping addiction and hoarding of clothes do not mix. I still have clothes/shoes from Freshman year of High School-- maybe even earlier. Who knows. After multiple clothes rack collapses and pant hangers breaking, I decided to do some Spring cleaning with my wardrobe. I feel like I rotate the same jeans/shoes and the rest of the clothes just sit there to make me feel guilty when buying new items. As tedious as this task was, I have to say Im feeling much better about myself :). A lot of the clothes I gave away were older items or pieces that were not of good quality--those impulse buys when trying to find something new to wear last minute--never a good idea. I would rather spend more on items that are well-made and will last--classic pieces. Staying away from those "Trendy" pieces you will only wear until it's no longer "In" is also a good way to keep your closet looking fab. There are great places in St. Louis that can give you great deals on your old clothing items if you're looking to make some extra money, or it's always rewarding to give to the Salvation Army as well! Happy Spring Cleaning everyone!

From Coats to Jackets
After this snow melts away, and whenever spring decides to show up, it'll finally be time to hang up your winter coat! I can't wait to be able to wear an awesome jacket or blazer out of the house and not be freezing! There are some amazing cuts, styles, colors and designs hitting the stores. These are just a few of some of my favorites!
1. I'm pretty much in love with this "Sister Jane Crystal Shoulder Blazer" from UrbanOutfitters.com
It's exactly the type of blazer that you can throw on with jeans and a t-shirt and immediately look classy and put together. Why can't every clothing item be like that?
2. This is the "Mural Mixed Media Moto Jacket". Such an awesome print on the sleeves and perfect for spring! Pair this with a pair of skinny jeans or a neutral colored maxi dress and you're set! Of course you should probably also wear pink lipstick. :)
3. Every girl needs a jean jacket! Why not make your's vintage and edgy? This is the "Urban Renewal 80's Denim Jacket". I love the sleeves rolled up on this one and all the pockets. The fact that it's oversized and acid wash, is just a bonus!
4. This Light Blue Blazer from H&M is great to complete a look for spring! Being a pastel blue, with a semi-denim texture, it's the kind of blazer that can be paired with almost anything! I love pretty pattern in the lining.
5. I can't get over how gorgeous this is. It's the "Haute Hippie Leather Blazer" from Nordstrom. The model has been dressed perfectly, sticking with an all neutral palette. I would love to see it with a blouse that has a modern print and a pair of black skinnies. Just gorgeous and a perfect blazer that won't ever go out of style!
6. On your more casual days, this jacket is a great one to just throw on. It's comfortable, yet tailored and has character. It's called the "Asymmetrical Zip Jacket" and it's on Sale right now at Nordstrom.com! Check it out.
What do you think of these? Did you notice some of the modern twists on great closet staples?

Surviving Snomageddon 2013
Hey St. Louis! As we've been told we're supposed to be getting a lot of snow tomorrow, how on earth will you survive being stuck in the house all day?! Well, sleeping in is a great start. But, if you're really hurting for some entertainment, here are some great things to keep you occupied!
1. Make a face mask out of some ingredients in your fridge!
- Blend ½ of a ripe banana, ½ cup of plain yogurt and 1 T honey. Leave on for 15 minutes. Great for dry skin!!
2. Veg out in front of a great movie!
- Add some Parmesan and Garlic salt to your popcorn to add a little spice.
3. Give yourself a great French manicure.
- Use scotch tape to block of the tips of your nails. Paint tips any color you want! Apply top-coat.
4. Make snow slushies!
- Create a simple syrup by boiling water and adding equal parts sugar. While in sugar, add a liberal amount of your favorite Koolaid flavor! Let cool. Collect your snow at the last minute! Pour syrup over snow and enjoy!
5. And If you're REALLY bored? Here's a game!
- Try to get from one end of your house to the other without touching the floor. Climb on furniture, jump on the dog, whatever you need to do to succeed! Have fun and let me know how it goes!
Any suggestions to cure boredom? Comment below!!

Nasty Gal
Ok, So Mother Nature really needs to make up her mind here. This rollercoaster of weather does not sit well with me. Im ready for some warm weather here--for at least a few days straight. In preparation for the Winter storm supposedly heading this way, I of course started looking at Spring/Summer clothes online for comfort. This worked for a while--then the thought of scraping ice/snow off my car tomorrow set in-Not a fan. But, I am a fan of Nasty Gal's new Spring '13 collection. I've never purchased anything from Nasty Gal but have a few friends who love their clothes. I'm loving their swimsuits and think this may have to be my first Nasty Gal purchase. The unique cuts and fun colors are great for Summer trips and poolside hangouts. Very fashion forward and edgy with a futuristic twist--Love.

Checkmate!
I've recently started making an effort to add some color back into my wardrobe. Back in high school and most of college I gravitated towards dark colors- grey, black & white even in mid Summer. I loved the aspect of sophistication and classic appeal these colors brought to any outfit. In looking through magazines or on the internet lately, I've been seeing the "Checkered Trend" more and more. This black/white pattern is so fun and versatile. It's perfect for mixing bright colors or pairing with black or white for a completely different look. Louis Vuitton Spring 2013 collection adds color to the "Checkered Trend" using bright greens/yellows for the print. I think this look is perfect for experimenting with colors and patterns. If you don't feel brave enough to wear the full checkered print, pair a checked shirt with a colored skirt or pants! :)

Soundtrack for the Season
I'm constantly reminded of how much music can influence my day. If my mood changes, my tunes selection does as well. One thing I've noticed is that I enjoy certain albums at different times of the year and embrace each of the album's characteristics as they coincide with the weather. I love listening to mellow and gloomy Bon Iver albums in the fall and winter. But, with spring around the corner, I've collected some great upbeat albums to match with the warming weather! Check these out and let me know what you think!!
1.) Nancy Sinatra - Sugar
2.) The Killers - Battle Born
3.) The very best or Electric Light Orchestra - All Over the World
4.) The Head & The Heart - Self titled album

OHH! Trend Sundays
Spring is officially around the corner! Time for bright colors, fun patterns, and mixing prints with the new spring trends!! One of our favorite trends is color blocking as seen in Danni's shoes and Syd's skirt. Color blocking is a great way to play around with bold spring colors. Experiment with prints by mixing fun patterns with a solid colors to add some contrast to your outfit. Spring into the season with a more daring approach!

Model Behavior
It is almost impossible to look at any fashion week coverage or flip through any fashion magazine without seeing the amazing Karlie Kloss. Karlie is a St. Louis native and Supermodel discovered at a local benefit fashion show. She has taken the fashion/modeling industry by storm from the get-go. She was named Best Model by People magazine in 2008 and is ranked 2nd on the 50 top models list on Models.com. This year she is the face of Donna Karan, Lacoste, and Lavin campaigns and is now a Victoria's Secret Angel--Jealous! She has also co-hosted the MTV serious House of Style with Joan Smalls- another amazing model. I remember seeing her around during STL fashion weeks during my Alive Magazine intern days-- So great to see how far she's come. I definately do not mind seeing her work all over, she's amazing--model crush!
